I’m Giving It Away

Last Christmas (2024), Ofu received a gift that a thirteen-year-old boy should be excited about at a Christmas party.
I was excited for him and said, “Papi, it’s so cool, and I can’t wait to see how you will enjoy it.” Again, he amazed me with his reply, “I’m giving it away. I know someone who will like it. So I will give it to him as a Christmas present.”
Me: “Papi, you always amaze me with your kindness and how you look out for others. That is the Christmas spirit, and I’d like to use this story as the next episode of Diary of Fatherhood. Would you like me to write it?”
Ofu: “Yeah!”
Me: “I will, so you can see it and continue your good work. Excellent Papi!”
Ofu: “Thank you.”
I know that the reward of joy that he gets from his generosity is indescribable. Last Christmas didn’t include lots of material gifts in our household. However, Sweetheart and I saw a drastic growth in our children’s perspective of the season. In addition, the joy, hope, peace, and love that we experienced were extraordinary! Indeed, it was a beautiful Christmas for our family, and I am excited to journal about this for the records.
