Son applies kindness skills observed from me.
“…A father knows he’s a success when he turns and looks at his son or daughter and know that they turned out better than he did.”… I’m a success; I’m a hell of a success.”
Joe Biden, Vice POTUS.
That’s exactly how I feel because of my son, Oche. This morning he said to his baby brother, “I’m going to fix your breakfast first then I’ll fix mine.”
Then I lavished him with praises for thinking first of his brother.
Now, here comes the mindblower…
He said “Dad, I learnt that from you. You always care about other people first. You always do that for us. And mom too, she’s always caring for us before she thinks of herself. Even when she’s sick, she still does stuff for us.”
I couldn’t contain my joy as I hugged him and told him how very happy I feel and how proud I am of him.
Again like VP Joe Biden, I declare, Oche “I love you. I’m so proud of you. I’m so proud of the son you’ve become.” I’m so proud of the man and leader you’ll grow up to become. I celebrate your leadership in doing your home chores; in the kitchen; in school; in boy scouts; in sports; in every little success; in your strengths and weaknesses… I celebrate you! Yeah!!!!
